What is oral conscious sedation dentistry?
There are several types of sedation dentistry, however, oral conscious sedation is a popular choice for many patients in Burlington ON. One of the reasons is that it does not involve any needles. The way it works is the night before the procedure you take one pill orally. This allows you to relax and get a good night’s rest before the procedure. Shortly before the visit the next day take another pill, relaxing you for the procedure. You will remain conscious during the entire treatment; however, you will be relaxed.
Many of our patients report a slight amnesic quality, leaving them with little to no memory of the procedure taking place. The oral sedation can be given in capsule form or in a way that dissolves under the tongue. Dr. Swati Khanna
Dr. Swati Khanna has extensive experience in family dentistry. A University of Toronto graduate, she specialises in root canal therapy, dentures, extractions, and children’s dentistry. Dr. Shakti Singh
Dr. Shakti Singh is an orthodontic specialist in Ontario. Originally from New Delhi, he was an outstanding student, earning an Indian Dental Association Scholarship. After moving to Canada, Dr. Singh ranked first in the Canadian Dental Board’s Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge exam in 2012. He completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Toronto, securing one of only three spots available for internationally-trained orthodontists in Canada. Dr. Robert Barron

Dr. Amy Yeung
Dr. Amy Yeung is a periodontist specialising in gum health. With a Master’s degree in periodontal studies from the University of Toronto, she has contributed significantly to research in metabolic disease, earning accolades for her thorough and high-quality work. Since 2009, Dr. Yeung has been a trusted member of the Mount Royal Dental team. Dr. Elizabeth Geisler
Dr. Elizabeth Geisler is an endodontist. She graduated with Honours from the University of Toronto in 2013, earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Then, she completed a comprehensive residency at a Level 1 Trauma Center in New York. In 2016, she completed her specialised endodontic training at Nova Southeastern University. As a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and a part-time clinical instructor at the University of Toronto, Dr. Geisler is heavily involved in dental education. She is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, American Association of Endodontists, and the Ontario Society of Endodontists and is in the process of becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.
