For many Burlington ON dental patients, the thought of going to the dentist can be frightening. This fear can cause you to put off needed dental work, or cause you to avoid going to the dentist at all. At Mount Royal Dental, we care about you and your oral health, and we are here to offer a solution to dental fears so that you can get the oral care you deserve. Oral conscious sedation dentistry allows us to give you the dental care you need, without the anxiety or fear that can come with it.
There are several types of sedation dentistry, however, oral conscious sedation is a popular choice for many patients in Burlington ON. One of the reasons is that it does not involve any needles. The way it works is the night before the procedure you take one pill orally. This allows you to relax and get a good night’s rest before the procedure. Shortly before the visit the next day take another pill, relaxing you for the procedure. You will remain conscious during the entire treatment; however, you will be relaxed.
Many of our patients report a slight amnesic quality, leaving them with little to no memory of the procedure taking place. The oral sedation can be given in capsule form or in a way that dissolves under the tongue. Oral conscious sedation dentistry has a long record of safety, so you can be assured that it will be effective and have little to no side effects.
If you are one of the many people who experience anxiety when you need a dental procedure, Mount Royal Dental is here for you. One of our main goals is patient comfort and we strive to make sure all of our patients enjoy their experience in our office. Oral conscious sedation dentistry allows us to ensure comfort for those who experience this anxiety. If you are in the Burlington ON area and think could benefit from oral conscious dentistry please call us at (905) 581-9912 for more information.
