When you visit our Burlington, Ontario office, you can learn all about how Invisalign is a highly popular choice among patients looking for a discreet and effective orthodontic solution.
While it may be true that patients who visit Mount Royal Dental to see our dentist, Dr. Sam Gupta and our orthodontic specialist, Dr. Shakti Singh, prefer Invisalign aligners because of their subtlety, there are other reasons patients all over the world are choosing Invisalign. Continue reading to learn more about some Invisalign benefits you may have never thought or heard about.
Many patients who choose Invisalign for their orthodontic needs already know that it is a highly discreet treatment thanks to the use of virtually invisible clear plastic aligner trays. But have you ever taken a moment to consider how Invisalign also helps keep your teeth pearly white?
Since traditional braces are fixed in place, staining or discoloration of teeth can occur over time. Brushing and flossing in the hard-to-reach areas around and under the brackets and wires can be difficult, leaving your teeth prone to staining. Because Invisalign aligner trays are removable and do not require any form of permanent adhesive to keep them in place, this discoloration is not a concern.
Getting traditional metal braces will require significant upkeep, including regular visits to your orthodontist or dentist. These visits are critical to the progression of your treatment as wires need to be tightened, rubber bands added, etc. When you choose Invisalign, these regular appointments become unnecessary as no adjusting or tightening is required.
You will be provided several sets of trays at a time, so your visits to the dentist will be minimized, making Invisalign a more convenient option for those with busy lives. When you do need to visit for an appointment, it will be much shorter than it would be for metal braces because no manipulation will be required.
Another benefit of Invisalign is its comfort compared to traditional metal braces. Your Invisalign aligner trays are crafted from a smooth plastic to conform to the shape of your teeth, much like a mouth guard. Traditional braces require metal brackets and wires, which can poke and even cut the inside of your mouth. Invisalign trays are removable, meaning they do not rub and irritate your gums like traditional braces. Overall, there is less wear and tear in your mouth.
Invisalign clear aligners are a great way to correct mild to moderate orthodontic problems. They are great for both teens and adults and allow for great flexibility in your life. Because they are removable, there are no dietary restrictions, and you can live your life as you want. Just make sure you wear your Invisalign clear aligners for 20-22 hours a day, and you should see results that exemplify why Invisalign is the leader in clear orthodontic options.
