At Mount Royal Dental, we love to make you smile! We work hard to ensure our patients have access to restorative treatments to keep their smile looking and functioning great. When patients lose one or more teeth, they can speak to a Burlington, ON area dentist about the benefits of solutions such as All-on-X dental implants. They can work with a professional to review whether this treatment is right for them, regarding restoring function, beauty, and maintaining an affordable cost for themselves and their family.
The placement of four dental implants are often used as a foundation for a denture. Full dentures are often made to rest on the ridge of the gums, stabilized by natural suction and sometimes even denture adhesives. However, the dentures can still shift, resulting in uncomfortable rubbing or sores on the gum tissues. Many patients experience their dentures falling out, making it difficult for them to enjoy their favorite foods, and embarrassing in certain social situations. Instead, many of these patients consider the advantages of incorporating dental implants with their dentures for optimum fit, function, and feel.
The dentist, such as Dr. Sam Gupta of Mount Royal Dental, will place four dental implants along the dental arch. These are biocompatible metal posts that are surgically implanted into the bone of the jaw in specific areas. Then, full dentures are made to snap into place over these implants, ensuring stability and strength. This is a great way to replace an entire arch of teeth – with All-on-X dental implants and dentures.
Candidates for All-on-X are individuals who have sufficient bone structure to successfully place these restorations. Determining candidacy is done with the use of x-rays to look at the bone of the jaw. When patients are missing teeth for several years, they may have experienced shrinking bone, which can affect the ability to place dental implants. Those who are serious about having dental implants but have lost bone structure may consider the advantages of using bone grafting to prepare the jaw for the placement of implants. These options can be discussed with the team at Mount Royal Dental during the initial consultation appointment.
When it comes to replacing an entire arch of teeth, many patients consider All-on-X dental implants and dentures for stability. This method of replacing teeth is a permanent and effective way to address missing teeth. Dr. Sam Gupta and the staff at Mount Royal Dental encourage patients to learn about the advantages these restorations have. Patients who move forward with All-on-X dental implants and dentures are often happy they did – because they can enjoy their favorite foods again and can socialize without having to worry about their dentures failing them. They provide patients with the confidence and self-esteem they may have lost with traditional dentures. It makes patients feel as though they don’t have to spend their time worrying about their false teeth.
